We have a degree and certificate program for digital filmmaking. We offer an AA degree, a Certificate of Achievement, and a Certificate of Specialization. The degree and certificate program have been approved for Fall 2017. See your counselor for details. You must pass each class with a C or better.

DMAD BASIC  DIGITAL FILMMAKING CERTIFICATE OF SPECIALIZATION (approved for Fall 2017)

The 12 unit Certificate of Achievement in Basic Digital Filmmaking provides foundational knowledge and skills in digital filmmaking production.

DMAD DIGITAL FILMMAKING CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
(approved for Fall 2017) 

The 27 unit Certificate of Achievement provides the same foundational knowledge and skills plus additional specialized coursework in creative writing, film studies, music appreciation, acting, and large scale stage productions. This allows students the opportunity to build their artistic and creative vision for their film productions thereby making them more attractive to employers or clients.

DMAD DIGITAL FILMMAKING ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE
(approved for Fall 2017)

The Associate Degree provides the same expanded training as the 27 unit Certificate of Achievement but adds the benefits of the general education classes. Students completing this degree will have had training in advanced digital film production, artistic creativity, plus a valuable education in the liberal arts.

Note: The prescribed classes below for the AA degree are the same as the prescribed classes for the 27 unit Certificate of Achievement. The AA degrees requires taking a set of general education classes in addition to the classes in the major.

See your counselor to create a Student Education Plan (SEP) and for a list of general education classes needed to complete the degree. Ask about transfer to a four year university such as San Francisco State University to continue your digital filmmaking education.
